Peace That Guards: Bible verses about peace
Named for the promise of Philippians 4:6–7 — that the peace of God will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus — these twelve verses are for anxious, busy and sleepless moments, when you need God’s peace close at hand.
What does the Bible say about peace?
The Bible presents peace as a gift from God rather than the absence of trouble. Jesus promised His own peace, not as the world gives (John 14:27), and told His disciples they would have peace in Him even in a troubled world (John 16:33). Paul wrote that prayer with thanksgiving opens the way to a peace that guards the heart and mind (Philippians 4:6–7), and Isaiah that God keeps in perfect peace the one whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in Him (Isaiah 26:3).
