Courage for Hard Days: Bible verses about courage
Twelve verses for the days that take courage: God’s charge to Joshua to be strong and courageous, the reminder that God has not given us a spirit of fear, and the psalms that call the LORD our light, our refuge and our strength.
What does the Bible say about courage?
In Scripture, courage rests on God’s presence rather than on self-confidence. God told Joshua to be strong and courageous because the LORD his God would be with him wherever he went (Joshua 1:9); Moses told Israel that the LORD would never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6); and David asked whom he should fear when the LORD was his light and his salvation (Psalm 27:1).
